Fables and Faded Flags

Chapters 1-5. Short Edition. 5 Continents.

“Fables and Faded Flags” are remnants of our urbanized human landscape framed as theatrical stages of personal importance. It is a curatorial project edited from my archive taken in many different countries I have visited on photographic asssignment. The images are brought together and united with the intention of illustrating an esoteric or different perspective by declaring cultural richness in not only the objects photographed but simultaneously transforming them into objects hence “photographs” in order to solidify this concept. I find beauty in the mundane and unknown that make up or encircle daily life hidden in architecture, details, moments, found objects and even nature that are sometimes unnoticed or forgotten. Leaders, communities, individuals and with them influences and trends change. These changes leave behind lost and tethered metaphoric “flags” calling attention to the passing of time. I wish to subjectively create a decadent poetic visual language of syllables and subjects as I travel our world trying to make some aesthetical and psychological sense of it all. Each photograph is an abstract fable or a still life that I expose as a theatrical stage.
